DE FET #2 May 15, 2014 - The arrival of our baby boy

It all started May 8th when I had my OB appt. At this point my swelling was crazy bad and when I was looking at my computer at work I kind of noticed that things were a little blurry and I had a slight headache. I got to my OB's office and they took my blood pressure which was 158/93. At this point I said to my husband that I think that they will send me to the hospital because deep down inside I figured that I could have preeclampsia. Sure enough when we saw the Doc she said that she wanted me to go to the hospital.

They did a bunch of tests and was later admitted to the hospital that evening but they couldn't confirm wither it was preeclampsia or HELLP syndrome because they didn't find any protein in my urine but I pretty much had everything else from the severe swelling, the headache, the blurred vision, low platelets and high blood pressure. Because there could have been a risk that something could happen to me like have a seizure and/or die they wanted me to stay in there until I gave birth.

So I was in there from the 8th to the 18th, 10 days. Man those felt like the worst days of my life!! I had so much that I wanted to do before I gave birth like have my hair highlighted, my nails done and to just spend some alone time with the hubby but thats ok now because I'm super excited to introduce to you my little miracle that we've worked so hard for, for the last 4 years, little H. He arrived a little early at 36 weeks on Thursday May 15, 2014, 6lbs 8oz. Considering he was pre term he did remarkably well by not needing to go into the NICU and we were able to take him home on the 18th.

DE FET #2 28 Weeks 6 Days

I haven’t written in a long time it seems but I haven’t had anything new going on. I’ve just been taking things week by week praying that we make it to the end if this with a healthy baby boy.

I have however had a few unpleasant pregnancy symptoms. Now don’t get me wrong I’m totally not complaining but it’s just getting harder and harder and to know I still have a ways to go makes it that much more hard.

I think it all started around 24 weeks when I started to have swelling in my legs and pregnancy carpal tunnel in both of my hands to which now has gotten so bad that my legs/feet are swollen all the time, they just don’t recover during the night. And my hands, well that’s a whole different story, they are numb all the time and so painful that it feels like I have arthritis. Then to top things off I’m already a little sleep deprived because I can’t sleep on my side at night or my whole arm goes to numb instantly, making the hand pain completely unbearable. I’m completely freaked out that it’s only going to get worse in the next 10 or so weeks before baby comes and being in this much discomfort makes me so tired. I hope the weeks go by faster than they’ve been going.

I haven’t made much baby purchases, we’ve decided to have a shower at the end of April then we can see what we get and purchase whatever else we need before baby comes. I’m getting real antsy to do the babys room. We are still waiting for the crib a dressers to come in, then I think we can at least do that. We bought the stroller, we got the Bugaboo Donkey, I love it so much!! It’s expensive but I think it will be well worth it in the end.

DE FET #2 19 Weeks 2 Days

Not much new to report except I've started to show in the last week so it's getting a little harder to hide my belly at work. It's also getting a little harder to dress my new body in my pre-pregnancy clothes, oh well the outcome will be well worth it.

 

Yesterday I made my first big baby purchase, the Crib, and the dressers and a bookshelf from Capretti Designs. Apparently its very good quality and I sure hope so because the crib is convertable into a toddler bed and then into double bed. The dressers and bookshelf are a very modern design so that it could be used for a long time too.

 

 

On Friday January 10, 2014 we went for our Anatomy scan and everything was perfect. Below is a picture from it at 18 weeks 2 days of our little boy.
