DE FET #3 - 36 weeks, 2 days

Its been a crazy last few weeks. I've been more swollen and my blood pressure has been going up so they put me on blood pressure meds and started me on an in home antenatal care program. I was hoping I could have these babies at 36 weeks the latest but because my platelets are so low they put me on prednisone to try to get them higher so is can have a spinal during my c section. The prednisone initially worked and they went up to 73 then 7 days later it went down to 62 so now I'm having to do IVIG to get them back up, which will takes like 8 hours. So now it looks like I'll be having them on my scheduled c section date of June 2. I guess it's not a bad thing but man my stomach is hurting so bad because I can feel it stretching. These babies are big. I sure hope this works.

DE FET #3 - The Arrival Of Our Twins

Sorry it's been so long, I've been meaning to post something way sooner but every time I start I get distracted with either H or the twins. Let's give this another go. I've now given this so many attempts that three months have passed.

Much like last time it really wasn't uneventful. On May 31st I went in to get IVIG because I had very low platelets, around 55 I believe. To be sure the treatment of IVIG worked I went for a blood test the next day, June 1st, and they were even lower so that afternoon my OB admitted me to the hospital. They weren't sure what we were going to do at this point but they just wanted me there so they could observe me.

June 2nd at 9:00am was my scheduled C Section. I wasn't sure if it was going to happen that day, I was just crossing my fingers because I was getting so uncomfortable with the swelling. I was asking the nurses all morning to see if it was still a go but they weren't sure but then someone came to get me and it was a go. I was so excited to meet them.

We get into the room where they prep you with iv and stuff and they took my blood to check my platelets again and they came back too low, 45 I believe, so they said they didn't want to preform the c-section, that I would have to have a general. I was so upset, I wanted to see my babies when they were born and I've also heard that I could be at a higher risk for postpartum if we did it this way. Luckily I had a very lovely persistent nurse that stood up for me and they agreed to give me a transfusion of platelets to see if they went up. Luckily they went up - just barely - and by 2pm we were in the room ready for the c-section.

We had our second and third little miracles at 36 weeks 4 days, which was our scheduled c-section day, on June 2, 2016. At 2:10pm our little boy, A was born weighing 6lbs 14oz and at 2:11pm our little girl, H was born weighing 5lbs 7oz.

This is them today, September 12, 2016, at 15 weeks old. We are all doing very well and they are growing like weeds already but I have to say that caring for twins has to be the hardest thing I've ever done in my life but I love them to bits!!

DE FET #3 - 33 weeks, 2 days

I wasn't feeling well yesterday and I had high BP all day the previous day and again yesterday so I called my OB's office and told them how I was feeling and they told me to go to the hospital. I went and my BP was even higher ( maybe white coat syndrome lol) so they gave me BP meds to lower it and I've been fine since. They checked my platelets and they went up to 73 from my Thursdays blood draw of 69 so they sent me home. The swelling in my legs have gotten really bad and my hands and face are swelling too. I pray it doesn't get any worse and hope I can at least make it to 36 weeks.

Then today I went to see my OB and she was surprised that they sent me home and especially with out giving me the steroid shot for the babies lungs because she thinks I'm slowing getting preeclampsia again and it's just a matter of time so she sent me back today (apparently the hospital is the only place that will administer the shot) to have that done and I have to go back tomorrow for a second round.

Aside from all this the babies are doing great! The boy is weighing in at 5lbs and the girl is weighing in at 4.5lbs so not tiny by any means.

DE FET #3 - 30 weeks, 4 days

Last week I had yet another ultrasound to see the twins. The boy is estimated to be weighing in at 3lbs 8oz and the girl is weighing in at 3lbs 6oz so very close to her brother. The doctor said that they are little chunky monkeys. Which in a way I suppose is a good thing but let me tell you it's been hard on mama to say the least.

My belly has gotten pretty big but that's to be expected with twins I suppose and I've only had minimal swelling at this point. I am so greatful for that. I pray that I don't swell like I did last time. With my belly so big it's so hard to do anything at this point I can't imagine throwing in the swelling. Though most of all I just want these little guys to be healthy. Oh and I've had heart burn this last week which has been so unbearable, I've never had heart burn before, it sucks so bad. My blood pressure has been increasing, now when I go to my OB's office it's been 140/90 but when I'm at home it's like 110/84 so she wants to watch it but thinks I may deliver sooner. I hope it doesn't go up.

On April 16th, just about a week ago now, Little H climbed out of his crib so we converted his crib into the toddler  bed.  So far he's done pretty good with it. He's gotten up out of his bed twice this week at night to either play or get his water but other then that I think he's done a pretty good transition so far. He's just growing up so fast these days. And he's talking up a storm too, he's such a smart little boy.

Got the cal today and my scheduled c-section booked for June 2nd at 9:00 so if all goes well that will be the twins birthday.

DE FET #3 - 25 weeks, 5 days

It's Friday today, I've been officially off work on short term disability now for 5 days. This week has been good, except for the fact that since Thursday I've developed a bad chest cold with a nasty sore throat. Sleeping the last few nights have been horrible. I sure hope it goes away soon.

I had an OB appt on Tuesday and she said all is looking good with the babies except I still have a marginally low lying placenta so I still have to take it easy but she said I can now go on my elliptical but at an easy pace so that's good news. She measured my belly and I'm measuring at 31 weeks so not small by any means but not super big either, thank goodness.

As for the swelling it really hasn't been too bad, let's hope it continues. I just have some marginal swelling in my feet and calves by the end of the day.

DE FET #3 - 22 weeks, 1 days

So far things are going well. I have a tiny bit of swelling by the end of the day but that seems to be pretty much gone by the next morning. I think last time the swelling started around 24 weeks so I'm still waiting but hoping it doesn't happen this time around.

Last weekend hubby and I were able to go to the mall and get a few sleepers for the twins. It was nice to be able to look at girl stuff this time around. I'm getting so excited for their arrival.

In just a few days we have the cribs arriving for our little peanuts. I'm so excited.

Little H had swimming this weekend with his dad. He loves swimming so much. Then he got to spend some time with his Grandma and Aunty A. Then on Sunday Nana and Papa can over for dinner and he thoroughly enjoyed that too.

DE FET# 3 - 8 Weeks, 2 Days

Starting this week I have had increasingly more bouts of nausea, to the point where it’s not subsiding and now it’s coupled with a slight case of acid reflux. In the 7th week I was able to keep the bouts of nausea at bay by frequently eating. Well that’s not the case now. I try to always have something in my stomach but at this rate I’m going to become a whale. Along with all that I’ve been kind of dizzy and sooo tired that I could literally fall asleep at my desk.

I see my doctor for the 1st trimester appt November 25th, and if I can hold off until then I will definitely be asking him if he can prescribe me some Diclectin.  Maybe it will help me cause if it’s like this now I can only imagine what it’s going to be like later.

The other day I was doing some Googling and was reading that lots of moms deliver twins between 28 to 33 weeks. Well that kind of put a little damper on things becuase I have to work a total of 52 consective weeks in order to qualify for Mat Leave pay and be gaurenteed my job back a year later. As it was, my due date with an October 9th transfer would put me to June 26th (of course I didn't think we'd have the luck of haveing two which usually makes the due date sooner). I didn't end up coming back from my previous Mat Leave until June 1 because I extended it by two weeks. So if I make it to 37 weeks that will put me at June 4th and I'll be golden but then that means that I have to work right up to that point and from what I'm reading that would probably be a very unrealistic expectation on my part.

Oh well I can't control that. I'm just happy that we've made it to this point. Ultrasound on the 24th. I pray all looks good.

DE FET #3 - 6 Weeks, 5 Day Ultrasound

OMG is all I have to say!! Years and years of trying and I finally got my little boy and now - and I do realize that things can change in a split second but for now I will remain positive - We are pregnant with TWINS!!! I can't believe it. I'm in utter shock!

Twin A was measuring 6 weeks 5 days with a heartbeat of 122bpm and Twin B was measuring 6 weeks 4 days with a heartbeat of 116bpm. I'm so excited.

Estrogen 347

Progesterone 41.8

DE FET #3 - 6 Weeks, 4 Days

Since my last post things have been pretty uneventful. I've just been biding my time, which I might add has been going by veeerrry slowly. :(

Tomorrow, however is ultrasound day. I'm so excited that the day is finally arriving. Now I just pray that we see what we need to see and that all is ok.

The past few days I've been second guessing whether or not its actually worked or not. I feel like maybe I'm feeling too confident that it's worked and I better tone it down a notch or else my dreams are going to be crushed. Then on the other had I feel like I have to be positive or it won't work. I hate what this waiting game does to ones mind. Just one more sleep, just one more sleep.

Symptoms don't seem to be as strong as last week, like not as hungry, not as tired, not as nauseous but I am still very thirsty. Could it be because something has happened when I had the little bleeding scare last week? I guess we just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed!

DE FET #3 - 5 Weeks, 4 Days

Today started out to be a very uneventful day. I decided to look back at around this time on my previous successful cycle to try and see if there were any similarities to this cycle, and at the time, there wasn't. Then almost like my DE FET #2 - 21dp5dt post in the body of it, it said that I had started to bleed at 5w4d. That's exactly today. And guess what. I started to bleed and it goes like this.

In the evening, around 5:00pm I had some weird stabbing like pains in my stomach, maybe it could've been gas pains but I wasn't sure so I decided to go to the washroom.  When I wiped there was a fair amount of watery red blood on the toilet paper. Maybe what most people consider spotting but not to me it wasn't.

I started to drink lots of water just in case this was happening because I hadn't drank enough water. Then at around 6:30pm I went to the washroom and it was still there, but it was getting a little lighter in color. The cramping was still there however but more like a dull pain.

Now at 8:00pm it seems the cramping has pretty much subsided and the bleeding has become a lot less. Though It's kind of hard to tell how much less because I'm also using endometrin suppositories so some of its blood and some of it is the progesterone. Nonetheless I'm pretty sure it's getting lighter, I hope. Could this have been more implantation?

I pray that everything is ok.

Oh and on the 27th of October I took another pic of the FERR's just to see the progress

DE FET #3 - 14dp5dt - Beta #3

I got my beta number, its 1835!! I think we are doing good, that's a 45.77 hour doubling time. Now I wait for the Ultrasound which will be November 6th.

As for symptoms, not much really. I have slight nausea so I find that I have to eat quit frequently and Im hungry ALL the time. I'm also thirsty a lot and fairly tired most of the time too. Let's hope those are all good signs.

And then for comparison from the previous numbers

DE FET #3 - 12dp5dt - Beta #2

I am patiently awaiting my beta results but this morning I did POAS again and it looks like the hCG line is now darker then the control like. Yayy! Hope that's a good sign.

Ok I got my number and it pretty much doubled, it's 887!!!

I'm still above the Max line so I'm not too worried that it hadn't exactly doubled but it seems to look good to me.

DE FET #3 - 10dp5dt - Beta #1

OMG I got my Beta hCG results and its at 469!! I'm so happy. Now I have to wait until Wednesday to see if it doubles. Fingers crossed. I know we aren't out of the woods just yet. Next will be an ultrasound in hopes we see a yolk sac, fetal pole and a heartbeat. So for now I remain cautiously optimistic.

Estrogen - 216  (I'm on oral pills so it's processed through the body differently. That's why it's lower)

Progesterone - 70

To think, this morning I though I was done. When I POAS'd I thought the hCG line was lighter then the 8dp5dt stick. It was a different package and lot number so maybe that's why it looks lighter. I may still be in the game!

DE FET #3 - 8dp5dt

This morning I POAS'd again, this time it was slightly darker than yesterday's. Yayy! In my opinion it's the same darkness as the control line. I'm going to try not to POAS tomorrow morning but I can't make any promises. 😁

Today little H and I went to one of his little play classes. It's at 9am and for some reason he woke up a few times last night and also woke up at 6am this morning so we were all a little tired today.  Let's hope we don't have a repeat tonight. 😳

DE FET #3 - 7dp5dt

Nothing really new to report other then I  tested again this morning and the line was a little darker which, in my opinion, is a good sign. Not as dark as I was hoping for but still darker then my last FET #2 on 7dp5dt. Fingers crossed.

DE FET #3 - 5dp5dt

The line is getting darker!!!! I'm just praying that this continues.

Today I went for acupuncture, she told me that my pulses are very strong and that it's a really good sign. As far as symptoms go I'm still hungry a lot and if I don't keep up on the hunger then I tend to get nauseous. Still really thirsty and having slight headaches throughout the day.

DE FET #3 - 4dp5dt

Well I thought I could wait to POAS until Thursday, which would be 6dp5dt but I couldn't, I caved.  Today at 2:30pm I POAS'd and I got a very light positive within the 3 minutes on FRER (not sure if you can really see it in the pic but I assure you, it's really there).

Yayy! I'm so excited!! It was probably very stupid of me to do it so early but at least now I have a base line as to whether or not it's getting darker. The POAS craziness has already begun. 😜

Update:
I'm not sure if this is just in my head now that I know that I got a positive but since I tested my feeling of nausea and thirst has increased significantly and now - 10:00pm -  I've got a splitting headache. Maybe I just need to drink more water, who knows. G'nite!
